Musona moves back home

A Zimbabwean forward whose brother enjoyed two successful spells with Kaizer Chiefs has headed back home after failing to find joy in South Africa.

Walter Musona – younger brother to Knowledge – has battled to find a new club since being offloaded by Sekhukhune United at the beginning of the season and has now packed up and re-joined FC Platinum.

He previously played for Platinum before moving on to have a short stay in Slovakia.

Musona spent three and a half years at Polokwane City before moving on to join Sekhukhune as they fought their way to promotion last season.

Without any goal scored in the five appearances that he made for Sekhukhune, Musona was then sacrificed.

He has been club hunting in the last six months but found no joy in South Africa after it became apparent that he is not measuring up to the standards reached by his brother.

The younger Musona scored 14 goals through his time at Polokwane.

Now 26, it has become obvious that he will not match his brother who has already enjoyed two spells at Chiefs, played in the Bundesliga and moved to Belgium by then.

Knowledge Musona now plays in Saudi Arabia for Al-Tai and was captain of the Warriors through their disappointing AFCON finals campaign in Cameroon.
