Pirates hand youngster senior team contract


Orlando Pirates could have a new face in their squad when the DStv premiership league resume next month after handing one of their youngsters a senior team contract.

KickOff.com has learned Pirates have recalled midfielder, Bonisile Mbangwa from their feeder team, Pele Pele to bolster their squad for this season.

'General' as Mbangwa is affectionately known, spent last season on loan with Pele Pele from Pirates.

According to sources close to the Bucs, Mbangwa was summoned to the club offices on Friday where was handed a senior team contract.

"Pirates have recalled their youngster Mbangwa from Pele Pele. He has been handed a senior team contract after being called into the office on Friday," said the source close to the club.

"He is set to be considered for selection when the league resumes next month."

Mbangwa joins the likes of Thabiso Monyane and Boitumelo Radiopane in the Bucs senior team after being promoted from the development team.
