The 21-year-old was named PSL Midfielder of the Season and PSL Young Player of the Season after helping Maritzburg finish a best-ever fourth in the league and reach a maiden cup final where they lost to Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup decider.

Ndlovu, who scored five goals in 34 appearances in his first full PSL campaign last term, is determined to remain consistent.

"That goes with how the pre-season is going, you know. But for me I'm still worried about the consistency. That is what is bothering me right now and the team," Ndlovu says.

"Obviously I made history for myself and the team made history, so expectations are high for me and for the team. So right now I think I'm still going to get settled down in pre-season and see how far we can go."

Ndlovu, who was fouled an unmatched 94 times in the PSL in 2017/18, expects to be a marked man once again.

"I think it might happen because obviously in referring to what happened last season. But if they see one, two, three games I'm not performing they'll just write me off," says the soft-spoken Ndlovu.

"So that is why I'm saying I'm still worried about consistency in my game."

The Team of Choice will fine-tune their pre-season preparations in the KZN Premier’s Cup on July 28.
