Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

The Egyptian king is in the form of his life. Not only is he the Premier League's leading goalscorer for the season (10 goals), but he's also got the joint-most assists (7).

He also recently went past Didier Drogba's record for the most all-time Premier League goals by an African player.

Many people are calling Salah the best player in the world right now, and it's very hard to argue with that.

Edouard Mendy (Chelsea)

In a resurgent Chelsea side under Thomas Tuchel, the Senegalese shot-stopper has been instrumental in keeping the Blues champions tight at the back.

He's got the joint-most clean sheets for goalkeepers in the Premier League this season with six shutouts, and has the most all-time clean sheets for any African goalkeeper with 22.

He's already picked up a UEFA Champions League medal at Chelsea. Could he be on course to add a Premier League one too?

Patson Daka (Leicester City)

It's hard to break into the side as an attacking player at Leicester, but the Zambian is making a great impact already in his first season with the Foxes.

His first Premier League goal was the stuff of boyhood dreams as it came against Manchester United in a winning cause.

If that wasn't eye-catching enough, he followed that up by scoring four times in the UEFA Europa League against Spartak Moscow, becoming the first Leicester player in over 60 years to do that in a game.

Between him and Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho, the African influence in Leicester's strike force is strong.

Victor Osimhen (Napoli)

In his second season in Serie A since joining from Lille, the Nigerian has starred for Napoli in this campaign, with the club currently sitting at the top the Serie A table.

While he was unable to hit his stride last season, he hit the ground running in this campaign with five goals in five matches as his team charged to an eight-match winning run.

After Simy’s great goalscoring feats with Crotone last season, Osimhen is keeping up the trend of Nigerians starring in the Italian league.

Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal)

While Osimhen has been key to Napoli's fortunes at the front, there's a Senegalese rock at the back of the team with the best defensive record in the division this season.

In his eighth season at the club, Koulibaly has picked up a Player of the Month award and has even scored two goals, including an important winner against Juventus.

Iddrisu Baba (Mallorca)

The Ghanaian has played in every league game this season for newly promoted Mallorca, who have impressed in their rise to mid-table.

He's a midfielder who is not really known for his goalscoring, but he's found the back of the net twice this season, including a winner against Levante.

As a stalwart for the Black Stars, who have successfully reached the play-offs of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the stage is set for Baba to have a great season on all fronts.

Boulaye Dia (Villarreal)

Senegal have supplied so many current stars across the European leagues, and Dia could be another on the up in his first season at Villarreal since joining from Reims.

He'll be judged on his attacking contribution, and he recently opened his account, scoring his first goal for the club against Cadiz. He's also provided two assists so far to prove that he's an all-round contributor at this level.

Sebastien Haller (Ajax Amsterdam)

Who would've thought that after an uninspiring spell at West Ham United, the Ivorian would end up lighting up Europe so spectacularly in the UEFA Champions League?

In a high-flying Ajax team, Haller has smashed Samuel Eto'o's record for the most goals by an African player in a UCL group stage with nine goals, and there is still one more matchday left before the knockout stage.

It may be Europe's Premier competition, but there's no shortage of African football stars making their mark on the greatest club stage.
