Just days after being linked with the Senegal national team post, Pitso Mosimane has reportedly emerged on the radar of a Qatari giants Al-Rayyan.

Mosimane's contract with reigning African champions Al Ahly is set to expire at the end of the current season and uncertainty surrounding the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss' future has attracted interest from a host of suitors.

Earlier this week, the 57-year-old was linked with the Senegal national team job, which is currently occupied by Aliou Cissé, and fresh reports have now suggested that Qatari outfit Al-Rayyan are also interested in his services.

According to Alanba, the eight-time Qatari Stars League champions have identified the veteran South African tactician as a possible replacement for French coach Laurent Blanc, whose performances this season have been deemed unsatisfactory.

Blanc, a former coach of Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team, took over the club in 2020 but has failed to challenge Al-Sadd for the league title, and his side currently occupies the seventh position in the log standings.

Per the report, the Frenchman is expected to be relieved of his duties in the near future in a move that could open the door for Mosimane's move to Qatar, which hinges on the ongoing contract negotiations between him and Al Ahly.
