Amiens coach Philippe Hinschberger has insisted that he won't "roll out the red carpet" for Bongani Zungu after dropping the Bafana Bafana midfielder from his matchday squad over the weekend.
Zungu was a noticeable absentee from Amiens' matchday squad against Dijon on Saturday and played no part for the third consecutive match as the club played out a 1-1 draw in the Ligue 2 encounter.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder's last outing came in a 2-1 defeat to Pau on 5 March in a match in which he was sent off after picking up two yellow cards within a matter of seconds for dissent.
With Zungu having long since served his suspension, Amiens coach Hinschberger has explained the reasons behind the Bafana Bafana midfielder's recent absence from the matchday squad.
"It's a combination of factors that motivated my decision," the French tactician told Le 11 Amienois after Saturday's clash against Dijon.
"He was expelled a fortnight ago and he left for a week to be next to his wife [sic.] who gave birth. He came back to this start to the week but as we were over a period of three matches, we were still training with two groups.
"Then, I had also said that I would not roll out the red carpet. When you say things, you have to put them in place. I don't think he's necessarily ready to get into the game anyway."
