Former Free State Stars midfielder Mpho Mathekgane is ready to fly the South African flag sky-high in the Zambian Super League.

The 26-year-old is currently enjoying his best form with Forest Rangers after joining the club from Buildcon FC last year.

The Tembisa-born midfielder has already won a man-of-the-match award and registered three assists for Rangers this season.

"I am actually doing well as a professional player here. Being in Zambia has taught me a lot," Mathekgane tells KickOff.com.

"I'm learning each and every day and I'm grateful to be playing here. Being away from home is a challenge on its own but the people here made my stay better due to their support.

"I have enjoyed a few achievements including being man of the match on my debut at Forest Rangers FC. I have also made three assists in the first three league games."

Mathekgane is soon set to be joined at Rangers by former Orlando Pirates midfielder Maselaelo Seanego and has encouraged other South African players to join him and Seanego in the country.

"This will be good exposure to South African players. I have encouraged former Orlando Pirates player Maselaelo Seanego, who is undergoing evaluation in Zambia," he adds.

"I am working to better my performance in each game every day to prepare myself to be suitable to compete in higher leagues in North Africa or Europe, and obviously to represent South Africa. It has always been my dream."
