Ntseki: Why Brighton can't play Tau

SA Players Abroad

Bafana Bafana head coach Molefi Ntseki has revealed the reason Brighton & Hove Albion gave him for why Percy Tau has not been playing.

Tau, who was loaned out to Belgian sides Union SG, Club Brugge and RSC Anderlecht in recent months, returned to the English Premier League club during the January transfer window.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns superstar has so far made only five appearances in all competitions for the club.

There have been rumours that the 26-year-old from Emalahleni might go back to Belgium for another loan at the end of the current season.

"The last four matches Percy was never played you know," Ntseki tells KickOff.com ahead of his national team squad announcement on Thursday.

"But I have managed to speak to him and the coaching staff to find out what is actually happening you know. So it's got nothing to do with Percy's discipline or commitment, it's just competition within the team.

"If competition puts him outside, and he's not training properly, he's not part of the team all the time, then it means his performance will obviously be affected [when it comes to being selected for Bafana]."

Will Tau be given the chance to enter this esteemed list of SA's top scorers in the EPL?
