Ayanda Patosi is finding form abroad amid transfer speculation linking him with a move to Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.
Patosi currently plies his trade with Foolad Khuzestan in the Persian Gulf Pro League in Iran but has been widely linked with a return to the DStv Premiership where Kaizer Chiefs have been credited with an interest in his services.
Amid speculation linking him with a homecoming, the 29-year-old netted his second goal of the season over the weekend when he scored from the penalty spot during his side's 2-1 league defeat against Sepahan.
While Patosi was ultimately unable to turn the result in his team's favour, his performance marked another impressive outing for the Bafana Bafana international who has now scored 12 goals in 53 appearances in total since joining Foolad in 2020.
That tally includes an effort in the 2020/21 Hazfi Cup semi-final win over Malavan, which ultimately set Foolad on their way to winning the domestic cup competition for the first time in the club's history.
He last played in the South African top-flight in January 2019 while on the books of Cape Town City before moving to the Middle East, where he initially played Esteghlal and Bani Yas before his move to the Men of Steel.
Patosi also boasts the pedigree of having played in Europe where he previously enjoyed a successful spell in Belgium with Lokeren, with whom he famously won the Belgian Cup on two occasions.
