Pitso Mosimane has received glowing praise from a direct competitor following the CAF Champions League group stage draw.
Mosimane's reigning African champions, Al Ahly, were drawn in Group A for this year's edition of the competition alongside South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns and the Sudanese pairing of Al-Hilal and Al-Merreikh.
Following the draw, Al-Hilal coach Joao Motta admitted that his side faced an uphill battle to overcome the likes of Ahly and Masandawana while singling Mosimane out for praise for his achievements with both clubs in recent years.
"I look at groups with positive eyes," Motta told FilGoal. I love big matches and big opponents. I know my team well and what can be achieved in this tournament.
"We will play against two teams that are candidates for the title and also against Al-Merreikh, our direct competitor locally. We have to work hard and our goal is clear, which is to qualify for the next round."
"...I know Al-Ahly well as it is a club with a great history and a lot of experience, and one of the greats on the continent. Mosimane is a great coach and won the title with Al-Ahly and with Sundowns, and has performed well over the past years.
"I do not see my team among the candidates to win the title because there are many teams that have the ability and experience to win it, but I promise you that we will offer something different."
