Al Ahly legend Ahmed Shobeir believes Percy Tau is owed an apology following his remarkable start to the season in Egypt.

Tau is currently the joint leading goalscorer in the Egyptian Premier League where he has scored five goals in his opening six appearances of the campaign.

The Bafana Bafana star's tally includes a brace in Ahly's 4-1 win over Smouha earlier in the week, which followed a remarkable solo effort just days before against Ghazl El Mahalla just days before.

His form has earned him the praise of former goalkeeper Ahmed Shobair, who believes Tau is owed an apology after he was accused of being injury-prone in September.

"Percy Tau deserves the praise, he scored five goals in six appearances with Al Ahly," Shobair said, per KingFut. "Whoever said he suffers a chronic injury should apologise."

The allegations had previously arisen after he returned from international duty with a partial hamstring tear, which delayed him from making his competitive debut for the club.
