TimesLive reported that an urgent application had been brought before the Johannesburg High Court this morning in an attempt to have the SAFA Elective Congress at Sandton Convention Centre stopped.
According to the article, the application was brought by three Local Football Associations (LFAs)‚ Matsatsantsa Football Club and their owner‚ Sello Nkwana. They were represented by Chief Mwelo Nonkonyana.
But the matter has been dismissed and the congress will go ahead as planned.
Danny Jordaan, the association’s current president, is up against former referee Ace Ncobo for the top position. Jordaan is said to be an overwhelming favourite to take charge for a second term.
