Matlaba: I will bounce back at Bafana

Swallows FC full-back Thabo Matlaba says he will win back his spot at Bafana Bafana after missing out this month.

Matlaba was selected in the squad that was supposed to play Sao Tome and Prinicipe back in March, but those matches were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic that halted sport worldwide.

However, the former Black Leopards full-back was not called up for this month's international friendlies but believes he can still win his place back.

"No, I understand. Football is like that so, Bafana coaches are following our games," Matlaba tells KickOff.com.

"So I believe that they take a decision... maybe they took me out for some of the things but I accept I will wait for my chance to come again. I accept."

Matlaba admits he might not have done enough when the 2019/20 season resumed in the bio-bubble to earn another Bafana call-up.

"Ya I think I didn't play the first two games, so I think I didn't do enough. To be honest I didn't do enough so I accept that I'm not in the Bafana squad. But I will wait for my chance, I didn't do enough.

"I'm a hard worker so I will work hard so that I can get recognised again at Bafana."
