Broos reveals Bafana technical team

SA National Teams

New Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has revealed who he will be working alongside when he begins his tenure with the senior national team.

Broos was announced as Molefi Ntseki's successor last week after SAFA's technical committee "unanimously agreed" on his appointment, despite mentions of the likes of Benni McCarthy and Pitso Mosimane.

While it is reported that the Belgian has signed a five-year deal, the fine print was set to be ironed out this week with the association CEO Tebogo Motlanthe.

Amongst the matters to finalise was also his assistant coaches, which is set to feature at least one South African to feature alongside his first-choice deputy.

He has now revealed that his number-two will be Olympiakos Nicosia coach Cedomir Janevski, with discussions still ongoing regarding the local assistant.

"My Belgian assistant will be Cedomir Janevski – he is not here at the moment, he is still in Cyprus, where he will be in the cup final next week," announced Broos on Wednesday.

"He's from Macedonia but was staying for 35 years in Belgium, played in Belgium at Club Brugge, and he talks English, French and Dutch so there will be no problems for language or experience."

Janevski has previously also worked in Egypt, where he was in charge of Ismaily for a brief period from December 2018 until April 2019.
