Bafana Bafana came out victorious to get new coach Molefi Ntseki’s tenure off to a great start as they also lifted the Nelson Mandela Challenge trophy this weekend.
Bafana walked away 2-1 winners against Mali as Dean Furman and Themba Zwane netted the goals at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday evening.

Though star forward Percy Tau missed the action due to an injury he sustained while on duty for club side Club Brugge last weekend, the 25-year-old was on hand to hand over a cheque of R1,5-million to the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund after the match.
It was a special win for Ntseki, who marked the beginning of a new dawn for the senior national team as they build towards AFCON 2021 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Bafana will next month begin their road to Qatar, when they face Ghana and Sudan in back-to-back qualifiers.
