Bafana's year-end ranking revealed

SA National Teams

South Africa's standing in the footballing world has remained unchanged in 2020 after Bafana Bafana ranked 71st in the FIFA's year-end World Rankings, matching the position the national team achieved at the end of 2019.

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Molefi Ntseki's side competed in just four fixtures during the calendar year, including last month's victorious double-header against Sao Tome & Principe in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Prior to that, Bafana played host to Namibia and Zambia in two international friendlies in October, drawing 1-1 in the former encounter before suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat to Milutin Sredojevic's charges three days later.
