Wome in the clear for Pirates

KickOff.com revealed Pirates landed Wome on loan until the end of the season on transfer deadline day from SuperSport United.

Besides Wome, Bucs have five other foreigners in fellow recruit James Okwuosa, Issa Sarr, Bernard Morrison, Edwin Gyimah and Tendai Ndoro. Nigerian Okwuosa has taken up the foreign spot previously held by goalkeeper Felipe Ovono at Mayfair. The Soweto giants recently parted ways with the Equatorial Guinea international.

PSL rules dictate that a club can only register five foreign players a season.

However, Pirates administrative officer Floyd Mbele has clarified that Wome holds a permanent residency permit and is therefore unaffected by the regulation.

"It's all clear. Wome holds a permanent residency permit after spending more than five years in the country," Mbele tells KickOff.com.
