The experienced midfielder is believed to be on his way to Matsatsantsa next season after reportedly signing a pre-contract to join former coach Stuart Baxter at United.
Chiefs confirmed earlier this month that the 33-year-old will leave the club when his contact comes to an end next month following an eight-year trophy-laden stay at the club.
“I’m not sure if he has signed or if it’s just rumours but it would be nice to play with him again,” Phala tells KickOff.com.
“I played with him at Chiefs [between 2007 and 2009]. He’s quality and he makes things happen for the team. Hopefully if he comes here, he will bring us that luck so that we can challenge for the championship.”
Asked about his interactions with ‘Yeye’, Phala adds: “We do speak but we haven’t spoken about him being here at SuperSport United, we just speak about personal things.
“I haven't confirmed with anyone so I don't know if he's coming or not but if you say he's coming then it's good for the team because he's a quality player and would be a good asset for the team.”
