Morena explains Downs move

Transfer News last night reported the winger was switching alliegances from Bloemfontein Celtic with an announcement on the deal expected today.

Morena also reportedly courted attention from Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, but he says the Brazilians' style of play attracted him to Chloorkop.

"It means a lot to me (joining Sundowns), it shows my hard work is paying off," Morena tells this website.

"Football is something else. I sat down and spoke to my parents and my agent before deciding which team to join. I chose Sundowns because they have a lot of players that plays the kind of football that I prefer. I can say I chose to join Sundowns because of their style of play."

The South Africa U-23 attacker insists he is not worried about the competition for game-time he faces in Tshwane.

"Competition makes you grow as a player," he adds.

Downs communications coordinator Thulani Thuswa confirmed Morena will soon link up with Pitso Mosimane's squad.

"It's not a secret that we've always been looking to sign Morena. We will announce his arrival very soon."
