Mabena signed a straight three-year deal at the start of the 2014/15 season and is now at the tail end of that contract.
The enquiries are also flowing in with Kaizer Chiefs now joined by SuperSport United in the list of clubs that have more than just cast an eye of interest.
According to FIFA rules the 29-year-old is already within his rights to engage potential suitors but has so far chosen to focus on his duties at Stars.
Dikwena have yet to make bold their interest to renew the contract of the man who has ignited the interest of clubs who will be keen to have the forward on a free transfer in June.
Mabena has been the leading forward at Stars for the past two seasons and though he hasn’t been scoring as regularly this season, he has remained an important factor in Dikwena’s attack.
The former Orlando Pirates man has set up six goals in all competitions this season and created an average of 2.55 chances per game – behind only Thuso Phala (3.40), Khama Billiat (3.32), Jabu Maluleke (2.97), Kurt Lentjies (2.89), Thabo Mosadi (2.77) and Elias Pelembe (2.61).
