Mvala remains under contract with the Lions of the North, who were relegated from the topflight last season, but tells KickOff.com that he really wants to ply his trade in the Absa Premiership for the sake of progressing in his career.
The 23-year-old was wanted by SuperSport United when Stuart Baxter was still in charge, while Kaizer Chiefs also made enquiries at one point before talks of a move to Israel came up.
“I really want to play in the PSL,” states Mvala. “My agent has told me that there are teams interested in me but it is up to Highlands Pak to decide because I still have a contract.
"I think maybe by the end of the week I will meet the club and discuss this matter further. From what I have heard there are talks ongoing regarding what eventually happens with me.
"For now I am training with the team in preparation for the new season, and they are saying I am staying here with the club for now."
The former national Under-23 midfielder also adds that he is unsure about what came out of the proposed Israeli deal.
“I also heard about Israel but nothing happened because I am still here and I never went there,” he notes.
Mvala featured in 38 games in all competitions last season.
