Sundowns appear keen to sacrifice the services of Sandilands and recall Thela Ngobeni following his stellar season while on loan at Free State Stars.
The former Bafana Bafana shotsopper has remained behind at home when The Brazilians departed to Ethiopia for their CAF Champions League match against Saint George on Saturday, with his contract set to run up on Friday.
“His contract expires on Friday and we are still waiting for Sundowns to come back to us up to now, which they haven’t done," the players agent Glyn Binkin tells KickOff.com.
"He didn’t travel with the team because he will be out of contract by the time they play.”
At this stage it appears the 33-year-old will be walking around as a free-agent by the weekend, joining Teko Modise through the exit door at Chloorkop.
Sandilands featured in just eight games in all competitions last season, falling behind Kennedy Mweene and first choice Denis Onyango in the pecking order.
