Dax can play Yeye role at Chiefs

Letsholonyane left Amakhosi two seasons ago to join SuperSport United and the Soweto giants have felt his absence in midfield at Naturena.

Chiefs were therefore drawn to Madagascar's Dax following his impressive performances during the COSAFA Cup in Polokwane and soon announced his signing, alongside Khama Billiat and Lehlohonolo Mirwa.

A few days later, though, Madagascan club Fosa Juniors released a statement saying Dax still belongs to them. Despite saying they would release a statement, Amakhosi have kept quiet about the matter.

Last week, before the Fosa Juniors statement was released, Motaung said: “Dax we tracked him when we were obviously doing our tracking at the COSAFA. We snatched the best player of the tournament, which is what clubs do. We even had European clubs here, so fortunately we managed to snap him. We got so many players from COSAFA in the past, even the [Tinashe] Nengomasha and [Collins] Mbesumas of this world we got them from there.”

Asked what impressed him most about the midfielder, Motaung said: “Workrate, technically he is above the midfielders we have in terms of mobility. After Yeye we had George Maluleka playing that role, but we needed somebody above and somebody who can lighten up, basically something we don’t have; a box-to-box player.”
