Following reports that Chiefs had illegally tapped up Walusimbi with the hopes of signing him in the current transfer window, the club have now confirmed their interest in the player.
The Nairobi-based outfit have threatened to go to FIFA after it emerged that Amakhosi had invited the Ugandan defender for an assessment without their consent.
However, it would seem Amakhosi football manager Bobby Motaung has now approached the 16-time KPL champions to enquire over the transfer of the Uganda Cranes international.
"“The two clubs are in discussions and we hope to finalise the matter in the next few days,” Motaung said in a statement released by the club.
Walusimbi, a 29-year-old left-back, is being lined up as replacement for the departed Tsepo Masilela, while he will also provide competition for the likes of Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Letlhogonolo Mirwa and Philani Zulu.
Chiefs have since recalled centre-back Lorenzo Gordinho from his loan spell at Bloemfontein Celtic, as they look to bolster their defense for the 2018/19 season.
