Bobby talks Paez, Manqele, Mthembu, Abraw

Amakhosi recruited Italian forward Paez on a two-and-a-half year deal yesterday after he impressed on a trial at Naturena.

"We have signed Gustavo Paez on a two-and-half-year deal," Motaung told the club's website. "We invited Paez for trials after identifying him through our scouting network. The team has been playing well and creating ample chances but we’ve struggled to convert them.

"In the period he spent with us on trial, we observed aspects that we need in the team. He has good technical abilities and is a team player. We welcome him and wish him all of the best. There are no guarantees in football but we are confident that he will form part of the solution in our goal scoring area."

Meanwhile, Motaung feels fellow strikers Manqele and Mthembu had ample opportunities to prove themselves at the Soweto giants, but fell short of expectations.

"Manqele and Mthembu have had ample time to exert themselves in the team," Motaung said. "Unfortunately things didn’t go as anticipated. Therefore, we are busy negotiating an exit deal with the two players. We hope everything will go smooth and the two players will have a chance to continue their careers elsewhere."

Motaung added the Togolese hitman Camaldine Abraw is back in full training after recovering from knee surgery, and has been "re-registered".

Motaung also explained the reason behind Enocent Mkhabela's recent loan move to Platinum Stars, with the player failing to play for the Glamour Boys since his off-season arrival from SuperSport United.

"We released Enocent on a loan deal to Platinum Stars. Since he arrived, ‘Eno’ battled with an injury and struggled to break into the team. We thought it is in the player’s best interest to find game time at another club and hopefully regain his sharpness."
