According to a source close to Phala, the 32-year-old will not be playing his football at Matsatsantsa in the second round of the Absa Premiership.
"The boy doesn't want to say anything at the moment as he is currently out in Durban," the source told KickOff.com.
"He was invited (to a function) by the Ethekwini Municipality, Department for Sports, Arts and Culture. He says this is the best thing to go and clear his head. He is still waiting for Tim (agent, Sukazi) to tell him where is he going, because he said he is going to weigh (up) his options.
"Highlands Park has shown interest in him, his former coach (Owen da Gama) is there. Thuso will be coming back from Durban today (Wednesday). You see even if he signs today, where is he going to sign because as we speak he is in KZN.
"But one thing I can tell you is that he will not be playing the Absa Premiership second round at SuperSport. Like now he is not training with SuperSport. Remember SuperSport have started training and he is not part of it.
"There are other teams but as you know the policy, you cannot talk about teams unless everything has been finalised. The other team he is going to, I know that they respect somebody's privacy and they deal with principles you know.
"Let me just say most of the clubs ... Thuso's age is not standing still and he cannot go and compete with 25-year-old kids. All I can I tell you, is it's one of the three teams based here in Johannesburg. It's one of the big three."
The former Kaizer Chiefs attacker has scored once in 11 appearances in all competitions in 2018/19.
