Larsen chuffed with January signings

Arrows yesterday signed Mthiyane on loan from Orlando Pirates after he was initially said to be heading back to Chippa United. The former Thanda Royal Zulu and AmaZulu left-back is due to arrive in Durban today.

Abafana Bes'thende also added Malawian striker Chiukepo Msowoya and Zimbabwean attacker Knox Mutizwa to their roster in January.

"We always say players talk, players talk," Larsen tells "They also know what is going on at other clubs, what type of training is done, what type of football the team tries to play.

"They talk about management and structures, they talk about a lot of things and players do their homework before clubs do.

"We must be doing something right to attract players of that calibre."

Larsen is hopeful ex-Pirates and Platinum Stars striker Msowoya can hit the ground running on his return to the PSL after impressing for Nyasa Big Bullets in his homeland.

"We are hoping that he brings the form that he had in Malawi to Golden Arrows," Larsen says.

"You know he has been scoring goals in the last two seasons and we are hoping for the same. He also brings a different dimension into our play.

"You know he's big, physical, decent in the air... something we've been lacking. He will also give competition to [Lerato] Lamola, to Knox Mutizwa, to [Sibusiso] Sibeko... and there'll be a bit more competition in that position."
