'Fadlu must stay two or three more years'

Davids had a great first season as a full-time coach in the PSL, leading the Team of Choice to their highest ever finish in the Absa Premiership while they missed out on silverware in the Nedbank Cup final last month.

To no surprise, Davids has been linked with a move and SuperSport United are said to have added him to the list of coaches they are considering to steer their side for next season. Davids, a man who would previously pick up the pieces as a caretaker coach, recently confirmed that he would be staying with the club as he is looking to build on from the season they’ve just had.

Good news is that the likes of Siphesihle Ndlovu, Lebogang Maboe, Andrea Filieccia, Pogiso Sanoka and Mohau Mokate have all been tied down to new deals at the club.

The club has been linked with attackers Fagrie Lakay, Bongi Ntuli and midfielder Keagan Buchanan, players who would add value to an already solid squad.

“My advice for Fadlu is that he needs to stay with a team like Maritzburg for at least two or three years,” Kadodia said.

“He is a young coach and he needs to establish himself well in an environment like Maritzburg before he moves on to a big club. I do my best to keep him happy at Maritzburg.”
