Dikwena are without a head coach following today's departure of Peter Butler, and currently sit bottom of the Absa Premiership standings after two successive league losses.
Former Orlando Pirates, Ajax Cape Town and Maritzburg United coach De Sa’s name was recently thrown into the pool of potential replacements, yet the coach himself acted surprised when quizzed about the possible link.
“Yes, I saw that,” De Sa tells KickOff.com when asked about the possible move. “I finished my 8km run this morning, turned on my phone and saw the news, so I’m glad you guys are keeping me informed.”
De Sa did, however, admit there had been contact with Stars, but no final decision has yet been made.
“I have had contact, I had a chat over the phone with them, but that’s as far as it’s gone,” he says. “I’m still in the Cape, trying to improve my horrible golf.”
De Sa has been out of a job since March following his resignation from the Team of the Choice, where he lasted seven matches, with one win, one draw and five losses in all competitions to his name.
