Middendorp eyeing another youngster

Transfer News

Chiefs have recently turned their focus to youth as witnessed by the promotions of the likes of Bruce Bvuma, Wiseman Meyiwa, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Siyabonga Ngezana all having all made the step up to the first team in the 2017/18 season.

This season, since the arrival of Middendorp, they have also roped in Happy Mashiane, Karabo Molefe and most recently Njabulo Blom from the reserve side.

Amakhosi are currently preparing to face Maritzburg United in an Absa Premiership clash on Saturday, and it was on Thursday established that the German tactician was looking at this season's Multichoice Diski Challenge top goal scorer Sizwe Twala.

The 21-year-old striker managed 12 goals in 15 games since his arrival from Bidvest Wits at the start of the recently completed campaign, helping the club register the most number of goal scored (41) and the highest goal difference (+21) despite finishing fifth in the MDC.

The burly attacker was training under the watchful eye of Middendorp and assistant oach Shaun Bartlett, and may well be considered as an option for next season, should the club not renew the contracts of Ryan Moon and Gustavo Paez, which end in June.
