Chiefs have already announced that Mkhabela ‘will be given the chance to make his stay with Dikwena permanent’ after spending the second half of the past season back in Rustenburg.
Mkhabela tells KickOff.com that while he has no qualms with returning to Stars he remains under contract with Chiefs for now.
“The matter is that I was on loan at Stars last season and that loan is up now,” he says.
“For now I have obviously heard through the media what Chiefs have said with regards to me and I have no problem with. It is just that for now nothing has been proposed with regards to that proposed permanent move to Stars. I am aware that Stars want me back but at this stage I must still go back to Chiefs because they are the team that I still have a contract with. Once I report back we will take it from there,” explains Mkhabela.
His six-month stay at Naturena after joining from SuperSport United at the beginning of last season was disastrous as he failed to make a single appearance which eventually led to him moving back to Stars. The 28-year-old played for Dikwena when he first arrived in the PSL.
“I just want to play football,” he adds in making a statement about the way forward.
