Mkhweli has been linked with a move to the Absa Premiership club of late following his exploits in the CAF Champions League with Mbabane Swallows this year.

Bakgaga CEO Morgan Mammila rates the defender highly.

"Personally I have met him. He is a very good player. We will see how it goes," says Mammila.

Mammila says the club are deciding which players will follow the likes of Makhubedu and goalkeeper coach Greg Etafia out of the club. Makhubedu spent a season with the Limpopo-based outfit serving as an assistant and interim coach. The club's technical director Doctor Khumalo ended the campaign as caretaker coach of the team, which narrowly survived relegation.

"MacDonald is gone. We still have to sit down with some other players whose contracts expire in June and see if we will keep them for next season," Mamilla adds.

Bakgaga chairman Khurishi Mphahlele on Monday confirmed the club are in talks with former Kaizer Chiefs striker Wedson Nyirenda regarding the head coaching job.
