The centre-back joined United last week as part of a swap deal which saw striker Rhulani Manzini move to AmaZulu.
Konqobe has penned a three-year contract with the Chilli Boys.
“It’s a new start, new journey and a new challenge for me to become a better person and player,” Konqobe told the club's website.
“The reception was amazing; meeting alot of players that I’ve played with, players who come from the same place as me. Head coach Dan Malesela was brilliant from day one, giving me a warm welcome and I’m excited to be working with him.”
The 21-year-old declined to comment on why the switch took some time to be finalised.
“Yeah, it’s a huge relief. It's never nice knowing you might be out for a long time cause of certain things you can’t control,” he said after watching Usuthu's first two matches of the season from the sidelines. “But I’m glad it was just fixed swifly and quickly.
“So now it’s up to me to focus on my football cause that’s the only motivation that kept me going.”
Konqobe is hoping to win more honours after helping Thanda Royal Zulu claim National First Division honours in 2016/17.
“Titles... every player dreams about titles and I’m young. I still have plans to win a lot of championships and which better team to do it with than Chippa.”
