The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Platinum Stars player has been training with Ajax since he parted ways with Dikwena at the end of last season.
The 29-year-old finally put pen to paper on Tuesday after impressing head coach Muhsin Ertugral.
"Yes, I signed for two seasons," Monama tells KickOff.com.
"It's a good opportunity for me. Obviously the name of the club and the coach is what made me choose them. I can say the coach and the team's ambitions you see."
Monama, who has a lot of experience of playing in the NFD after a stint with KwaZulu-atal club Royal Eagles, says he hasn't yet spoken one on one with Ertugral but understands what will be required of him.
"We haven't spoken but I know what is it that he expects from his players. The quality and the youngsters that we got here, and the structure, is right for us to bounce back immediately."
