The Bafana Bafana defender is set to meet with Ajax head coach Stanely Menzo when the team return to Cape Town from Johannesburg, where the Urban Warriors are currently holding their pre-season training.

According to a source at Ikamva, the club have already identified Jomo Cosmos' Burundian defender Frederic Nsabiyumva as a possible replacement for Coetzee, who is still strongly linked with Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

Ntsabiyumva featured for Ajax during the friendly match against Maritzburg United in Soweto this week, where he also registered his name on the score sheet.

"Ajax is already preparing for life without Rivaldo [Coetzee]. They have brought in the Cosmos captain (Ntsabiyumva) and he could be capable replacement,” the source tells KickOff.com.

"Pirates are interested but scared off by the price tag on top of the player's head. Sundowns are preparing to pay something close to what Ajax want for the transfer fee,” he adds.

Efforts to get hold of Ajax Cape Town boss Ari Efstathiou for comment about Coetzee proved futile after his phone went unanswered.
