Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has issued an update with regards to the team and their latest progress, offering insight into their daily workings.
It has been well over two months since Pirates last kicked a ball competitively, since the PSL suspended football indefinitely.
There has since been no indication as to whether or when the 2019/20 season will resume, with the Buccaneers having had seven games still to play while trailing log leaders Kaizer Chiefs by eight points.
It has since been revealed that the team has not taken its foot off the gas in hopes that the season will resume soon, and Zinnbauer has further detailed the sort of coaching taking place virtually during the lockdown.
“We rely a lot on online technology to carry out our daily sessions with the players. Our programme is focused on the following key components,” said Zinnbauer in a video message shared on the club’s social media platforms.
“Conditioning training and running programmes, ball-mastery sessions, team playing unit and individual meetings to discuss the tactical elements of our game model.
“We have been cooking together, playing board games and we do what we can to keep our team socially connected.
“We have also been working with different external coaches to assist the team in preparation for our return to the field. The players are working hard and we’re looking forward to being back on the field soon.”
