We are all feeling the despair of lockdown... so are PSL players... and one Orlando Pirates star has some bizarre plans for how to celebrate when freedom comes.
Although it is for a good cause, the 21 days of lockdown has denied South African citizens freedom of movement and their choice of lifestyle, including top football players like Linda Mntambo of Orlando Pirates.
Next week, provided the government's lockdown is not extended as has been reported, Mntambo plans to celebrate the end of the stay-at-home period by spoiling himself big-time after following his training regimen diligently at home.
"I'm going to dress up in a tuxedo and go to gym," Mntambo tells KickOff.com.
"Just hope the coach [Josef Zinnbauer] lets us play 11 vs 11, because we are working hard during this lockdown period.
"Then take my dogs for a walk. I have three dogs Jojo, Spencer and Shakes... order half-chicken and chips at Nando's with extra sauce and garlic cheese rolls."
Why a tuxedo and not any other form of clothing?
"Just to celebrate going through lockdown safely with my family and going back to doing what I love," he explains.
"I miss football, playing football and the Orlando Pirates family. I miss competition and learning from my teammates and the coaches."
