Marques: We were on the back foot

Marques felt his side should have been two goals up early on in the match after they squandered some good chances in the first half, one notably a one-on-one chance from ‘Bhele’.

“Wits won, and they deserved it. Unfortunately for us we had our two chances in the beginning of the game, and I think in the first few minutes we could have easily been two-nil up,” said the Portuguese coach.

“Obviously losing Nomvete and Lerato [Chabangu], we were always on the back foot.

“I knew it was going to be tough, but that’s how the game works,” added Marques.
