6 players join Mlambo on Pirates exit list


KickOff.com has learnt that Xola Mlambo is set to leave Orlando Pirates at the end of the season, with several others likely to follow.

Mlambo has failed to secure regular game-time at Pirates despite arriving with big expectations following spells with Chippa United and Bidvest Wits.

KickOff.com has gathered from sources close to the club that the 28-year-old is set for an exit at the end of the season after falling out of the management's plans.

This website also understands that the futures of six other Buccaneers players are set to come under scrutiny at the end of the season.

Pirates also have several players on loan who will either need to be released, sent on loan again or retained for the 2020/21 season including defenders Gladwin Shitolo and Tebogo Tlolane.

Shitolo has earned a Bafana Bafana call-up for his form at Golden Arrows while Tlolane has proven to be one of the best young players this season after excelling at Maritzburg United.

Mlambo's pending release will be seen as a positive for Shitolo's hopes of impressing while Zakhele Lepasa remains determined to prove his worth to Josef Zinnbauer next season.
