Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane had admitted that he is saddened by the departure of Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojovic from Orlando Pirates.
Sredojovic’s resignation, announced by the Buccaneers on Friday night, took South African football followers by surprise, as it came on the eve of their MTN8 opener against Highlands Park.
Assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena had to step into the hot heat and will be in charge until further notice.
Mosimane has described 'Micho' as a very professional person and lamented his departure from South African football.
“I must tell you, I was very sad. Because he is a person who is a friend before football,” said Mosimane.
“Micho gave me Denis Onyango. He gave me another left back before. I know Micho for many years when he was at St George. He invited me for a tournament to come and see players. He highlighted Onyango and other players when I was still at SuperSport United. I come far with him. I sent him a text. He hasn't replied. I will check.
He continued: “I sent him a text to tell him I am saddened by him leaving because we a had a very good friendly competition. We never had a go at each other. He is professional and humble,” he added.
Micho is in Egypt to start his new role as Zamalek coach.
