Swallows open up on Lebese

Premiership

DStv Premiership side Swallows FC have opened up on former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder George Lebese joining their pre-season.

As was revealed by KickOff.com yesterday, the 32-year-old has started training with Swallows FC with a view to resurrecting his career following a stint in the United States.

Lebese joined the rest of Swallows players in training in Randburg on Wednesday, under the watchful eye of coach Brandon Truter and his technical team.

The former Amakhosi star initially signed with Marumo Gallants in December last year but was eventually released after his clearance papers was not received from the US, and also trained with TS Sporting before resurfacing at the Dube Birds.

Swallows boss David Mogashoa has explained that the club have not opened any contract talks with Lebese and are merely affording him time to regain his fitness.

"Yes, he is training with us. At the moment there is nothing concrete to be discussed  about his presence at training," Mogashoa tells this website.
