The 18-year-old is one of four strikers for the match at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday, though very few people have actually heard of him.
He is very well know to Mashaba though, having been part of the Amajita team that qualified for the African Youth Championships next year. He scored some crucial goals during the campaign, including an away goal against Cameroon in the first-leg, third round qualifier.
He had spent some time on loan to Shining Stars Academy, but is now back at Orlando Pirates, who he has been representing in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge, where he scored four goals.
In a My Teammates interview in KICK OFF Magazine in October, Aubrey Modiba described Ngubo as follows:
“Our pastor is well respected in the team as he always leads our prayers. He never loses a debate and if you get into an argument with him just know that you will end up on the losing side.
“Before meetings start he always asks us to keep quiet so that he can watch Generations or any other soapie showing at the time. He brings his bible to camp and watches pastor Mbhoro on Soweto TV, and if you change the channel he will accuse you of being the son of Satan.
“He has such a big head that he once crashed against the goalpost and instead of getting hurt he left the goalposts slightly bent.”
