What’s in the March KICK OFF magazine

Leonardo Castro, Orlando Pirates’ own JZ – Josef Zinnabauer – Mamelodi Sundowns defence duo of Mosa Lebusa and Wayne Arendse are all featured in the March edition of KICK OFF magazine on sale.

Kaizer Chiefs’ title charge this season has rejuvenated the form of Leonardo Castro. The Colombian striker has been sending reminders that he is still as effective as he was when he first arrived in the country five years ago.

KICK OFF details the forward’s input and the role that he has been playing in easing some of the scoring responsibilities from Samir Nurkovic.

Their Nedbank Cup exit at the hands of Bidvest Wits aside, Orlando Pirates have seen a dramatic upswing in fortunes since the arrival of the German coach in December as a replacement for Rhulani Mokwena. So, what has been the secret to his success and what does the future look like for The Buccaneers under his stewardship? KICK OFF spoke to former Pirates players to give their view on the impact of ‘JZ’.

Lebusa might be thriving at Mamelodi Sundowns following his move from Ajax Cape Town at the beginning of last season but he had to deal with so much rejection in his teenage years that he almost quit this game. The very same Brazilians that he now does duty for were amongst the clubs that turned him down just over a decade ago for being too skinny. He and defence partner, Arendse spoke to KICK OFF in exclusive interviews.

South Africa will face some familiar foes in their bid to qualify after they were drawn against Ghana, Zimbabwe, and Ethiopia in the group stage qualifying.
