Baroka keep their faith in Nyirenda

Bakgaga succumbed to their 11th defeat of the season last night, losing 1-0 to Golden Arrows at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Baroka are in 13th place on the Absa Premiership standings, just four points ahead of bottom of the table side Maritzburg United.

The Telkom Knockout champions have registered just four victories this season. They had hoped that things would improve after winning the Telkom Knockout in December, but they keep letting themselves by conceding softs goals. On quite a few occasions, they’ve squandered leads.

“Of course the coach will finish the season. We are left with six games. How can you want to get another coach with six games to go? No, it can’t happen,” Mphahlele tells

“We have to soldier on. They were unlucky yesterday. We could have collected points, but it was not our day. They showed a lot of commitment. Of course after winning the cup bsome of the boys took the eye off the ball, but it’s the job of the technical team to make sure that they focus again. I believe that a win will come.”
