Orlando Pirates full-back Wayde Jooste praised the strong mentality in the squad after their 3-0 victory over Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila on Wednesday.
Clubs never relish travelling to Limpopo due to the long distance and high temperatures, but Pirates equipped themselves brilliantly up north as goals from Gabadinho Mhango, Deon Hotto and Fortune Makaringe propelled them to fourth position on the standings.
"It's very difficult the heat, the travelling. Bus drives. It's very difficult. But the mentality in the team is strong. We worked as a unit and it paid off in the end," Jooste told SuperSport TV.
Jooste and Paseka Mako were a constant menace to TTM as they bombarded up and down their respective flanks throughout. And when asked about his combination with his fellow full-back, he responded:
"We have that understanding from training," said the defender.
"We work on the tactics at training and credit must go to the coaches and analysts for analysing our opponents. We know exactly how to attack when their full-backs do go forward."
