Golden Arrows' MultiChoice Diski Challenge coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi is not in a rush in his career after he was offered an opportunity to work with the under-23 national team.
Vilakazi has revealed that David Notoane spoke to him to be his assistant in the youth setup but he could not take up the post.
"Coach David Notoane spoke to me about an assistant coach post but it was something that's got many dynamics, it had to go via my boss and stuff like that, and also I'm not that kind of a person that rushes things, I'm not in a hurry for such things," he explained.
"Even people who ask me about the first team, I always tell them when the time is right it will come. I'm still comfortable with development for now, because I'm learning a lot. I don't want to rush to the top while I'm not ready, I want to grow when the time is right and be well prepared."
'Kanu' says he did not turn down the request but needed things to be done in the proper way, since he is still under contract at Golden Arrows and did not want to find himself in a place where he has to choose between club and national team.
"I didn't turn down the offer, I requested proper procedures to be followed. It's not only about me, maybe coach Notoane is allowed by [Mamelodi] Sundowns to work for both, it cannot be the same for me, which would've required me to choose."
