Letsoalo makes decision on future

Bafana Bafana striker Victor Letsoalo has opened up on his future at Royal AM as the transfer window deadline looms.

Letsoalo has emerged as one of the most consistent strikers in the DStv Premiership during his time with Baroka and Bloemfontein Celtic. While recently also making history by scoring a hat-trick on his national team debut en route to lifting the Cosafa Cup.

The 28-year-old bagged the competition's Golden Boot award with four goals despite being a late call-up to the squad, resulting in strong interest brewing for his services.

Former club Bakgaga were keen on luring the striker back to Limpopo while Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates were also said to have registered interest.

However, Letsoalo has now confirmed that he's unlikely to complete any transfer this week while denying his recent absence from the opening game of the season was linked to a potential exit.

"I was training, I just wasn't selected for the first game," he confirmed to KickOff.com ahead of his national team duty.

"I'm going to stay with the club. I'm very excited going into this season, I want to play regularly like I did last season at Bloemfontein Celtic. It's important to get that game time to score goals.

"I'm looking forward to being in the Bafana squad [too], it shows I have the potential to compete with the best players in the country. It gives me confidence going into the new season, I just have to apply myself well going forward.

"I don't want to speak about the offers that were made, I just want to focus on my football now, it's a new season for everyone and I need to start over."

Letsoalo scored 11 goals and registered three assists in 32 games across all competitions for Siwelele last season.
