AmaZulu sign Chippa Utd captain

Premiership

AmaZulu have further bolstered their squad with the signing of Chippa United captain Veli Mothwa just days before the transfer deadline.

Mothwa, 29, has emerged as one of the finest goalkeepers in the DStv Premiership over the last 12 months since earning his place in the Chilli Boys starting eleven.

The former Baroka shot-stopper was then handed a leadership role by head coach Lehlohonolo Seema as they finished 11th in the 2019/20 campaign.

But Usuthu have now snapped up the towering keeper as their ambitious transfer outlay continues with their 12th signing since the takeover of Sandile Zungu as owner.

KickOff.com can confirm Mothwa left the Chilli Boys squad to sign his contract with Ayanda Dlamini's side, who host Cape Town City at Kings Park Stadium tonight.
