SC Victoria University media manager Leon Ssenyange has confirmed that the defender is in South Africa for trials.
“After his good performance in the Fufa Super League, the Uganda Cup and also the national team, Savio has earned himself a chance for trials and hopefully he performs well,” Ssenyange says.
Kabugo helped Victoria win the Ugandan Cup and to a fifth-place finish in the FUFA Super League. He made his debut for the national team in a friendly against Rwanda this year and also played in another build-up game in Libya.
Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic added that the player is a huge prospect for the future. “He is a good young player who will be an asset to Uganda.”
Kabugo has been part of the Cranes team during the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, but he is yet to feature in any of the games.
