Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Tsepo Masilela could make a comeback with an Absa Premiership club after 15 months as a free agent.
Masilela has been without a club for 15 months after being released by Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the 2017/18 season.
The former Bafana Bafana left-back was struggling for game time after a long injury layoff which saw him lose his place at the club.
KickOff.com can confirm that the 34-year-old started training with Usuthu on Tuesday in the hope of winning a contract as he looks to prolong his career in the top-flight.
"There's nothing we can say for now, he's training with the club," spokeperson Brilliant Mkhathini says.
"We played a friendly yesterday and we are playing another one on Saturday. The coach [Jozef Vukusic] is not rushing on them [Masilela and Mario Booysen]."
Masilela, 34, is a well-experienced defender who has also plied his trade in LaLiga and was part of the Chiefs team that won two Absa Premiership titles in three seasons under Stuart Baxter.
